Grooper webservice call to retrieve info

Hello we have a requirement to make a mandatory webservice call that passes an input parameter in the SOAP request and need to retrieve some info from the SOAP response and show it on the indexing screen. The request will need to be triggered by a button click. How can this be achieved. We have confirmation that Grooper doesn't have webservice callout out of the box. Just looking for a workaround approach if there is any.
