Error message - The batch was modified by another process

I am getting an error message at the start of my batch process. I  am doing a file system import and starting the batch with a Link Action which loads the content. After the Link Action, I want to do some image clean-up with Image Processing. Image processing does not start and the error comes up. 
OCR gives the same error

You have to have pages to run IP and OCR. So try running split first

Got it working now. Had to put in a Content Action split at folder level 2. Image Processing and OCR now work.
